There is a movie about killer elevators called, "The Shaft", which runs on Sci-Fi, but, I never heard of a killer escalator. (I refuse to call it SyFy because I think it's stupid.)

I wish the video was clearer. It looks like the guy is walking up the escalator and grabs a sign, loses his footing, and he's gone!

Wouldn't you turn it off first? The escalator is still running. There are switches on either end to turn them on or off.

I found out what happened. I posted it in Reports and Interests since there are no more photos. He is listed a few paragraphs down as, "Unknown Male". It wasn't the guy's fault. Just a case of wrong, (very wrong), place at wrong time.

Apparently, a few years ago when the report was researched, there were 68 cases of escalator deaths a year in the US alone.
