Well, speaking from experience in working these kind of accidents, the fire was HOT to totally incinerate his legs like that. Assuming this, if he inhaled the superheated gasses from the fire, fortunately, death would be QUICK. Granted, this isn't always the case, but, for his/her sake, I certainly hope it is.
