The video I saw today shows the initial traffic stop. The interaction between the two was normal. The dude was driving someone else's car, no registration, no ID I believe and had an active warrant for failure to pay child support.

If he had not run, the worst case scenario was that he would have been arrested and the car impounded. He chose to run...and now he is dead.

Once again, let this be a lesson to anyone who thinks they are better off ignoring a police officer's instructions. Like it or not, it is the truth.

Dont try to pin this on the victim. Typical from a pro-cop viewpoint.... He would be alive had he not been shot in the back multiple times...he would be alive had the cop not racially profiled him over something pretentious like a broken tail light....that cop wanted to get some black action. This is the fault of two people.

One, an idiot who decided to run from the police.
If he had just stayed in his car, as instructed, nothing would have escalated beyond that point.

Two, an officer who had no business assassinating this guy.

Both are to blame for their actions, the officer more so than the driver.

Both could have handled this much differently.

The bottom line is, if people (black, white, green, purple, whatever color they are) would simply do as instructed at a traffic stop, none of this shit would ever escalate. However, people have to push it and be defiant.

The guy had a taillight out, which gave the officer probable cause to stop him. Perhaps the moron should have made sure his vehicle was properly working before going out and making himself a target.

A threat was eliminated as it should have been.

The threat of someone repeatedly acting in an increasingly dangerous manner.

At some point, the officer had to eliminate the threat.
