Whether mentally ill or not, she got what she deserved. The police officer did nothing wrong in this situation. So many Monday morning QBs posting in this thread criticizing the officer, when they would shit their pants in a similar situation.

Nah, all officers (if not very little) use hollow points, so it would not have traveled through her or something/someone else.

Taser is ineffective 1 in 20 to 1 in 50. Personally saw one test officer take the hit 5 or 10 seconds, still coming at the tasing officer. If you aim at the legs and miss or graze, you risk hitting a bystander. Officer still responsible for the round. 1996 in NYC bank rob suspect shooting out with police. A bullet struck suspect in neck for non-fatal, non-stopping wound. Round was a Full Metal Jacket, passed through and struck a female bystander in the heart and killed her. Department and officer successfully sued lost a couple mill. Big city cops loathe to use firearms for any reason since every round fired carries enuf liability to lose his job and his house and his family. |

Why not use non-lethal force? Because now the problem is solved instead of waiting until next time she goes off her meds and kills someone else before they get there. Who says there's no cure for mental illness?

'Suicide by Cop' is a real 'thing'now! Selfish 'Wack jobs!' Officers have no choice but to protect themselves. Feel sorry for them really. These cops literally go through so much shit every day just to take home to their families a measley packcheck. Now citizens are committing suicide, left, right and centre, and they have to deal with the mental shit in taking a life that wanted it to be taken. So selfishly! I really think they deserve a salary increase. A new design in uniform with more protection. The force needs better healthcare, 'mentalcare' being at the forefront. AND they need more support from us ALL! |
