Why do these cops have tazers and non-lethal weapons if they are just going to use the gun

Because they are professional killers.
Tazers are just to give cops a harmless image.

Have you seen how quickly someone can close the distance on you with a knife? She had a deadly weapon, came at him immediately, and he feared for his safety. I'm sure he had a taser on his duty belt but what if he misses with it? What if it doesn't subdue her? Then she is already in range to close the gap to stab him before he can get any other weapon out. He'd be going to a knife fight with his hands

If she did NOT have a deadly weapon then I would definitely agree that he could have used non-lethal means to end the situation. I also do think that he could have attempted some kind of first aid although I'm not sure it would have made a difference here.

This is correct. The 21 foot rule exists for a reason. Sure, she was moving slowly but could've accelerated and closed that distance quickly and would've been on top of him.

She went to all that trouble to get shot, perhaps he didn't want to risk undoing the results that she worked so hard to get.

why didn't the cop just shoot her in the leg, instead of the centre of the chest and then say dumb things like, "Mam stay with us" and "stay calm"?

Police are taught to shoot for the chest. Legs are too thin of a target, and they’re steadily moving. Cops often have to make a decision in a split second. There’s no do overs. The chest is considered center mass, and is easier to hit in a high stress situation. I’ve also noticed that in cases where an officer does use a taser, there’s usually at least one other officer standing nearby with their side arm out and ready, just in case the taser does not hit or disable the suspect. If the taser happens to fail, he likely won’t have time to put the taser gun down, pull out his pistol, aim, and stop the individual when they only have seconds to stop the threat.

It's a misrepresentation to say that police are trained to shoot to kill. They are trained to shoot to stop. The quickest, safest (for the officer and any bystanders) and most effective way to do that is to aim for center mass. This may increase the chance of death for the involved subject, But it maximizes the chance of survival for the officer and anyone else in the near vicinity.

Tazers don't work on some people with drugs in their system. She's coming at you with a knife. Deadly force is met with deadlier force. If she had no weapons, then she'd get the lightning.

He took a shot while there was a driver behind them

Why didn't he use a taser

Why didn't he stay in the vehicle and wait for backup

Why didn't he just soot in the leg, she obviously suicide by cop
