I remember this very well. Happened close to where I live currently, if I remember correctly it was either outside Bakersfield or Barstow. Those are California HI-way Patrol (CHiPs) and are NOT police, they tend to act with more discretion than normal boy-in-blue Po-Po would. The poor old bastard lost his wife to cancer, had no extended family and had recently lost his home too, was living out of his sedan. Does anyone else remember this? Circa 94-96ish if I remember correctly... |
