Re: Circus Tiger Kills His Trainer Alexander Crispin During Performance
Don't you know, we are all part of Mother Nature. There is nothing, ultimately, special about one set of "smart" apes that evolved into our ancestors. (Yes they are special with respect to certain specifiable traits, e.g., sophisticated linguistic abilities, partial mastery of fire.) Yet in the last analysis what is shown here is just a case of one element of Mother Nature messing with another one. Because the "victim" is a human instead of, say, a zebra, we are more interested in the outcome. The logical consequences of evolution upset some folks, but that can't make them any less logical.

That 2 legged moron galloping like a deer in front of those majestic beasts, needless to say much easier to catch than a deer..What could be more attractive for a tiger than having it's belly full of self hunted meat? You triggered an animal's predatory instincts, you get a taste of "The Wild" |

Re: Circus Tiger Kills His Trainer Alexander Crispin During Performance
If he had treated them well, they probably would not have attacked. I have seen other people wrassling and swimming with their tigers, and no problem. I have seen a guy snuggling and wrassling with his Grizzly bear. no problem. It's when they are abused or mistreated that they strike back. My sympathies are all with the tiger.
