there's this thing they call pneumatic cutter. seen it a few times in action and it can cut a 4 inch steel pipe even with just a press of a pinkie finger. Then, there's also an incident i saw where a simple watcher who also owns a hardware store handed the firemen a strong enough long length of chain. they simply towed the whole steel bar assembly away. |

i've seen some apartments owned by mechanical engineer. He had them bars made with fire exits and the exits are locked with elecro-magnetic deadbolt locks. the exits are spring loaded. the fire and smoke detectors inside the building triggers all the electro-magnet locks and springs all the fire exits open. whole thing are just his own practical design and application.

Often find that scenario in Asia. The make the windows burglar proof, even on windows that are 5 floors up, but forget to put in an exit point in case of things like fire. I’ve come across a balcony in Thailand that was 6 floors up, but which had a really solid re-bar cage built over it. Anyone in it during a fire, wouldn’t have a chance of getting out.  |

Oh fuck, that poor man. Well that's put a downer on my day, absolutely horrific. If he did have family in there, I hope that they were consumed by the smoke instead of burning to death. Just awful.

 They didn't forget. You would be surprised how skillful & bold a Chinese burglar can be... If there's a way out for the home owner, there's a way in for the burglars. In China, there's no such thing as a safe way out which can only be opened from inside, specially on something as thin as security bars or windows, even if it's from a balcony that 5 floors high. (I think the magic number for being a safe floor over there is 7 ) It's simply a choice: You want a door on your balcony that opens both ways 24/7 or not. Remember a cheetah's always aiming at the slowest gazelle. If unfortunately all of your neighbors barred their balconies, then you know you became the slowest gazelle...  |

Yes yes indeed it is. . . From some years back, nonetheless. . . But no worries, still, one to thank gawd I haven’t any bars on my window. Two stories up or even one story much less, fuck bars on windows. Def always been and still is a hard vid to watch I skip through it and never even watch the end I never make it though |
