It was described as a leak where I found it, but they say that about everything. If anyone is interested there were nine of them, all females.

There are a lot of questions relating to this video. What's being pictured matches a lot of the known protocols, but having ANY execution filmed is quite rare, even more so when it's a large number of them.

There tends to be very little prep associated with most executions, and even the condemned doesn't know the exact day/time. In much of China, the entirety of the process involves driving to an out of the way spot (specifically away from areas where filming is expected), where the sentence is carried out.

In terms of filmed executions, it's rare to have the actual shot included. More focus is given to the crime committed, and the final result of the execution...but this can depend on if the family is willing to pay the bullet tax.

If you can find any details, please post them, as if this was real, and not a reenactment, it would be good to know.

So I was curious about capital punishment in China and found out some interesting facts that I'll share here since some people seemed interested as well (hopefully this is okay, let me know if it isn't!)

In 2015, the criminal code was amended to remove nine capital offenses:

Smuggling weapons or ammunition
Smuggling nuclear materials
Smuggling counterfeit money
Counterfeiting
Investment fraud/fraudulent fundraising.
Organizing prostitution
Forcing prostitution
Obstructing military affairs
Spreading rumors and undermining morale during wartime.

The following 46 crimes will still get you executed in China

Crimes Endangering National Security

Treason
Separatism
Armed rebellion, rioting
Collaborating with the enemy

Selling state secrets
Providing material support to the enemy

I'm still curious what the scale of punishment is here though. Like if I go rob someone for a pair of shoes, would I get executed? Surely if I brought a gun, but what if I was just very convincing and didn't use a weapon, still robbery, but does that put me on death row? Some things on that list are so broad, its no wonder they have so many executions, "Production or sale of hazardous food products"?

Found this news clip while doing research as well.

Some of the highlights:
- I know the 1st execution shown in the video is already on DR, just don't know the thread's name.

- A woman in the video claims China had ~2000 executions in 2017 (There were 23 executions in the US for the same year.)

- A man was executed for a murder that evidence proves he was not part of (according to the executed man's mother). The courts refused all requests for a retrial. The mother claims that the court was bribed by the real killer. His organs were harvested before being cremated (a practice which was banned in 2015.) The family requested to see his body before cremation but the courts denied their requests and basically gave them a receipt to collect the ashes.

How many people died that time? Nobody. They got shit rich and mostly get relocated to Beijing northwestern surburb called Ma Lian Wa, Haidian district. Since most of these people were villagers and their villages changed into the statiums near metro line 8 so they had no farms, many of these people end up work as taxi drivers. Apartments in Ma Lian Wa area is now insanely expensive and most of these residents own 3-4 flats, they are quite wealthy and can live a happy life by receiving the rent. They don't give a shit about their taxi driver job which is just something to keep them social and busy. The taxi service in Beijing is probably the worst in China. Drivers brag about everything: how rich they are, how many properties they have, how to use media to put pressure on government to get as much as compensation as they can in 2008.

Death penalties usually apply to murders, selling drugs, selling military secrets to CIA/NSA/etc and raping kids.

That's an old wive's tale--no one actually likes Celine Dion here.
