I cannot even fucking believe they did not shoot each other. The one that swung out into the street to shoot into the car didn’t even need to be there. Can you imagine all the paperwork that’s going to go around all the rounds that went through a fucking car door?

All that crossfire, very dangerous. Pure luck in crossfire by trigger happy bystanders didn't get shot. Every cop standing there did not need to unload.  It's like the keystone cops all firing at once. |

Better safe than sorry! They are following protocol, shaped by countless other incidents that have caused innocent victims their lives. There's a system they follow, it's not random at all. Not to mention, everything that happened was completely determined by this car passenger...  He knew the consequences, he chose to exacerbate the situation, he chose to die rather than acquiesce to the police demands to surrender safely. Seriously, what else do you think the police could have done?? Invited him to come out for tea so they could each discuss their own ideas for what should happen, then come up with a compromise so both sides win???  Real life doesn't work like that. |

Another reminder of how, despite how it might look on TV/in movies, bullets (even just handgun rounds) routinely go RIGHT THROUGH car doors....
