Car Passenger Fatally Shot by Cops During Traffic Stop in California
On Feb. 18 in San Marcos, Ca. 33-year-old car passenger Andre Raphael M. was killed after a routine traffic stop. Footage shows deputies repeatedly shouting at Andre to drop his pistol during the increasingly chaotic encounter that stretches on for several minutes. Several deputies shouting commands before one forcefully smashes the passenger window with a baton. The standoff reaches its breaking point when deputies deploy a taser, prompting Andre to raise his gun and fire 2 rounds from a 9mm semi-automatic, triggering a barrage of shots from the officers. Five deputies and one Palomar College Police officer discharged their weapons, firing a total of 54 rounds. Before the shooting, a deputy with San Diego County Sheriff’s Office stopped the red Hyundai Sonata on for a broken taillight on North Twin Oaks Valley Road. The car passenger gave the officer a fake name and a check of the vehicle suggested it could be stolen. Andre became uncooperative, rolling up his window an refusing commands to lower it. He then reached for a gun on the floorboard before the situation turned deadly. Sheriffs Department personnel gave him a life-saving aid at the scene, but their efforts were unsuccessful. No other injuries were reported. The driver was a 21-year-old woman. Her name has not been publicly released by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department as she is considered a witness rather than a suspect in the shooting. Just moments before the gunfire erupted, deputies managed to pull her out of the driver-side door into safety. |

Gets tazed. Reacts to being tazed by 'jolting' to upright position. Fires two rounds, gets fifty four. Should've dropped the piece. |

As an honest question. Can you explain your logic in a respectful manner? In more than one sentence? Simple commands to not reach for gun..... Hand on gun...... Multiple attempts to prevent shooting...... Far from trigger happy in my eyes. |

He wanted to die. Didn’t want to go to jail. He had enough intelligence to understand the commands being given and chose to disregard the officers instructions. Bye guy! *waves |

Seriously who is the psycho here, how many times we watched someone pointing a gun to police and die in a hail of bullets? And whats your recommendation? Fire one round, examine, if its still moving, fire another round, examine.... I really want to understand the mindset of people who blame cops in this situation. |
