That is tragic but I’m with everyone else. After reviewing the video I would DEFINITELY attempt the decent to ground or balcony below. Unnecessary, however, educational....

Those hoarders pose a real problem for us firefighters too. Can't see shit inside a burning house, and now I have to sift through boxes to make sure there aren't any bodies. And, have to make sure none of the stuff falls behind me, blocking my escape. There really should be laws against hoarding.

Looks like they're pretty high up there. My guess would be the fire department was aiming from the ground, and didn't have a ladder truck with them. I don't even know if those countries HAVE ladder trucks!

I’ve seen a different version of this, right before the fire actually gets to them, just three frail older ladies standing there screaming while their clothes were starting to smolder. They couldn’t climb over and were paralyzed with fear and pain. Maybe two could have pushed at least one over the rail.

A shot to the head is more survivable than this. And to think that the aftercare (fasciotomy included) for the burns would be a useless torture ahead for them, they're toast, no pun intended, well, okay, yes it was intended.  |
