He did not look like someone with a cool head and eye for details. He looked agitated like he was off his game or tweaking. IMHO maybe anyone doing that should have another expert with them to double check everything using a second set of eyes and the cooler head of someone not jumping. There is ZERO margin for error here since you only get one life. He hit the ground so quickly it seemed hardly enough for a parachute to deploy and slow him even if it had worked... News says it was a 29 story building which the internet tells me is approximately 314 feet in height. That does not seem very high when jumping off, accelerating in freefall, waiting for the chute to gradually open THEN start slowing you down to a non-lethal impact speed. High enough that a 150 lb man hits the ground at around 97 MPH (or 155.92 km/h). At least it was quick. |
