does anyone with medical knowledge out there know wtf is going on here ?? I'm guessing the maggots have been put on deliberately to eat some rotten flesh ...? I'm guessing that since nobody seems to be making an effort to stop the things eating his jaw...

If you get a bad enough infection you will get maggots. I saw a bum once in New York city who had that sh*t all over one of his legs. They get gangrene and the flys come and lay eggs in the dead flesh. How f**ked up does someone gotta be to get to that point?

Here goes the medical explanation: First, these are not the type of maggots used to treat wounds Secondly, this man was either homeless, or home bound and not taken care of, so he became infested with maggots both in his belly button and his face. It is probable that he had maggots elsewhere as well. Third, he has an obvious infection of the mouth or chin, or possibly a fungating cancer of the lip/jaw or mouth. Fourth, he IS alive, and the maggots probably prevented him from dying by eating away at the wound/mass. I have included some pics of other maggot-infested wounds as examples. The head pic is from a cancer that became infested with maggots due to no medical care, and the leg pic is from a homeless person who had an infection in his lower leg. Both patients are alive. |
