The atheist looked directly into the light: "It would be hypocritical
to ask to be a Christian after all these years, but perhaps could you
make the bear a Christian?"

"Very well," said the voice.
The light went out.
The river ran again.
And the sounds of the forest resumed.

The bear dropped his right paw ... brought both paws together ... bowed
his head: "Lord, for this food which I am about to receive, I am truly
thankful."

Read this somewhere, don't know how accurate it is but it seems to make sense. If you're ever attacked by a wild animal, go completely limp like a rag doll and play dead. Apparently animals will stop when they think the threat is neutralized, and humans are the only animals that will keep messing with a dead body. Apparently we're the only creatures that will "over-kill".
