Re: Two Thieves Beaten then Shot
I'd love to go visit my family in Venezuela again, but then I see shit like this. If this is street justice, then I'd hate to see what actual criminals do. |

Re: Two Thieves Beaten then Shot
PITY MORE COUNTRIES DO NOT ADOPT THE SAME PUNISHMENTS, WE COULD PROBABLY SEE A DRASTIC DROP IN CRIME ETC, IF THERE IS NO DETERANT THEN EXPECT THE WORST, I THINK ALL THIEVES RAPISTS AND NCHILD MOLESTERS SHOULD BE GIVEN THE SAME TREATMENT, AND MAKE THE STREETS A BIT SAFER FOR EVERYONE! |

Re: Two Thieves Beaten then Shot
http://citizen.co.za/859475/video-su...killed-by-mob/ South Africa has seen its fair share of mob justice attacks. Vigilantism is a serious concern in this country, where communities often cite disillusionment with spiraling crime and ineffective police as reasons for their violence. In case you need a reminder of how prevalent vigilante attacks are in South Africa, here are just some of out recent stories on the topic: Rapist murdered in Mahikeng mob justice Nine arrested for killing a man in apparent mob justice Violence needs serious attention Three teenagers burnt to death Man beaten to death by angry residents These are just a few, and academics and organisations have done extensive research on the topic. The one thing that is always regurgitated is that communities are fed up with a perceived slow or non-existent response from police to crime problems. Of course such reasoning can never justify mob attacks. However, it is clear that such community anger is not unique to South Africa. A video has emerged of a mob justice attack in Maracaibo, Venezuela. The community was apparently fed up with a string of robberies in the area and caught these two young men in the act of an attempted robbery. This video shows that vigilantism is a global phenomenon in poorer communities where crime is out of control. If ever there was a case to be made for more investment in poorer areas, these incidents are there like a flashing light. Warning: the footage in this video is disturbing, and not suitable for anyone under the age of 18 or sensitive viewers. |
