That was not a beam, it would of crushed him, not bounced off his head. Sure looks like he's dead though.
More like one of those plywood used for form works in making concrete beams or pillars. Phenolic boards or something.

I'm pretty sure it was a steel piece of a re-usable mould for concrete casting of columns and pillars, they're heavy as fuck.
