Re: Australian Jailed for Filming Dying Officers
Voltaire would be turning in his grave after learning the guy was sentenced to jail for expressing his feelings. At least he got less jail time than he would for calling a Trans-"woman" Mister. |

Re: Australian Jailed for Filming Dying Officers
Basically dude got locked up for being an asshole. Didn’t know you could get arrested for filming on a public road. |

Re: Australian Jailed for Filming Dying Officers
The bottom line, whether anyone likes it or not, if this guy wouldn't have been speeding in his mid life crisis assholemobile, those cops wouldn't have pulled him over and would still be alive. Sure, that truck driver may have hit someone else anyway, but not these cops. The charge of "outraging public decency" is apparently rare but in my mind, icing on his cake of being a shitty human being. Making light of four human beings killed for doing their job because HE was speeding. He plead guilty to it and showed remorse but the fact remains he is partly responsible for these deaths due to his speeding. And 300-something days in jail for all of that is a slap on the wrist. Agree or disagree... those cops were all human beings before they were cops, with people who loved them. It's not known if any of them were bad cops, but it's all too easy to throw them into a box based on the uniform and the actions of other bad cops who dress the same. That's just not realistic.
