Germany exports many weapons, but only high tech weapons and only into selected countries, not this cheap shit like ak47 to every asshole. in Asia or in north Africa are many manufacturers they are able to copy most weapons, not only ak47 - their weapons are low quality, very cheap and they sell everyone who pays. Germany exported in 90s old ak47 into Turkey. Today Germany destroys their old G3 rifles. they dont sell to everyone and they absolutely dont sell into Africa.  |

Didn't I say the best match I could see was the AKM from Cambodia? Perhaps made in China even? You can't say they are no weapons in Africa made by German manufacturers just like no one can be certain that a certain amount of American manufactured weapons are not in Africa. But you are correct that most of the AK47s and simular knockoffs are cheaply made just for that trade. Getting a US made AK47 to Africa poses much the same problem as a German made weapon. It's not about morality, it's about cost vs profit. The bottom line is always profit. So you can save your sanctimonious act for your priest. Any manufacturer supplies his product based on his bottom line. No one cares how it's going to be used. Not his call.

When Germany reunited in 1990 alot of the old East-German AK47s went missing, I bet some of them and from other former Sowjet-Republics are in Africa now. Also there should be some G3s there, there we're tested in Africa and never came back. And the thing with Germany exports only high-tech weapons to selected countrys is BS, this month H&K were searched by the police because they sell weapons to Saudi-Arabia without a licence.

best ak47 copies are from China, or from another communist country. "cost vs profit" - i wrote you Germany dont sell even better rifles G3, they pay to scrap them, i dont think its profitable  Germany dont export handguns into Africa, cos there are too many civil wars. how you can see, its not just about profit. they make much more profit on high tech weapons as on cheap shit like ak47, so they have enough money to scrap 400.000 G3 rifles.
