Re: Acrobat on Bicycle Falls From Tightrope During Circus Show in Russia, Dies
Vid2 best shows the cause of the fall. After extending his right leg forward, he retracted his leg and failed to land his foot on the pedal. Just beginning to go reverse, he had little momentum and the left foot was at end of its power stroke. With neither foot able to pedal, the bike had no momentum and the man lurching to nail the pedal made the rotation more severe. Extending the leg while reversing direction was a high risk move and kind of meh to a typical audience member. The only people who would appreciate the difficulty and risk of that move would be another acrobat, or a trials bike/motorcycle rider. Not worth the risk. |

Re: Acrobat on Bicycle Falls From Tightrope During Circus Show in Russia, Dies
What is a more interesting story? 1. "We went to the circus and everyone was so talented" or 2. "We went to the circus, and everyone was so talented... apart from this one part where a guy fell and broke his neck and died" Who's gonna react more to 1 or 2? |

Re: Acrobat on Bicycle Falls From Tightrope During Circus Show in Russia, Dies
The Russians may not do some things as well as we do in the states, but it appears we certainly could learn from their excellent prowess and expertise in filming fatal accidents. 10/10 for the camera work by multiple operators here.
