No offense, Simone, but you above all should understand that not everyone lives in a world of cupcakes and sunshine.

What he did was clearly horrible, yes, but what kind of pain drives a person to do something like this? It doesn't just spring out of nowhere, it takes YEARS to construct a world where something like this is perfectly acceptable.

This is why mental health is so important. People see fat, unhealthy, limping people out on the street and think nothing of it, but our brains are what distinguishes us as human beings from lower animals. That squishy pink organ can raise men above skyscrapers, but it can also cause tragedies such as this one. Take care of your minds, people.

That cunt abused his wife for 17 years, there's no excuse. Many of us have mental health issues + many of us do our best to get them under control. The violence, fear + eventual death that he inflicted on his wife is not justified in any way.

Just because he's a man doesn't mean that he doesn't deserve just as much compassion as a woman who bears five children and drowns all of them in a bathtub in a fit of insanity.

Again, I'm not justifying what he did, but if his wife had known any better, she would have dumped his ass the first time he even RAISED a fist against her. Clearly, he didn't know any better, either.

I perfectly understand that ignorance of the law is no defence, but if you are raised that way from birth, and no one tells you otherwise, how are you to know any better?

I wholeheartedly agree that both men + women should be punished equally for their crimes. I'm certainly not a feminist + would have said the same if the roles were reversed.

In some cultures, it's expected that the man will put the woman in her place when she gets out of line. I'm not saying this excuses his behavior, but in some places that's just the way it is
