We got trained to dragg them underwater in that case, to 'sink together' when they try climbing on you and thus drowning You.

Don't struggle, just go deep enough down and the victim will let go.

Also always approach from behind.
We have a special head-lock to make sure they can't grab you while you swim/drag the victim to safety
