Yup, and most centre mass shots will cause this; it’s what the bullet cavitation in ballistics gel is a representative of. A .22 will kill, sure, but 9mm and up will drop a threat. You always hear about how stray bullets paralyze people, but it’d be pretty strange given how your spinal column is so narrow. But it’s really just bullets hitting relatively close to your core to cause this. All that a bullet needs to do is hit close enough to your spine for it to expand large enough to sever it. It’s also why vests save cops lives in shootouts: sure, it protects vitals, but it also prevents you from being paralyzed mid firefight. It’s also why it’s absolutely retarded to use rifles for home defense when you can use buckshot with a flashlight and not even have to worry about aiming.  I don’t want a deadman walking situation |
