15 Indian Tourists Killed in Phu Quoc, Vietnam Speedboat Capsize
This afternoon, a tragic maritime accident occurred off Vietnam's southern island of Phu Quoc, where a tourist speedboat capsized. Out of the 36 people on board, 15 have been confirmed dead and 21 were rescued. The vast majority of the passengers were foreign tourists from India. The speedboat, was operated by the Ocean Pear Island Company, was conducting a popular island-hopping tour. Around 1:00 PM, after leaving Hon May Rut Ngoai Island heading back to An Thoi Port, the boat suddenly overturned. It capsized roughly 400 meters out at sea. Local authorities report that the area was experiencing rough sea conditions, unexpected heavy winds, and large waves, which caused the vessel to flip upside down. Officials confirmed that the vessel and operator were fully licensed and permitted to exit the port. Nearby tourist boats rushed to assist after spotting the capsized boat. One boat owner involved in the rescue said his vessel reached the scene within about five minutes, but the operation was hampered because many tourists were trapped inside the overturned boat. Only a few people were brought out conscious. |

The boat pilot must have been incompetent and or not experienced in rough seas.  |

36 people on a speedboat in those rough waters? That boat doesn't look like it's big enough for half that many.  |

The Indians can STILL have a TRAIN ACCIDENT, even when they are on a BOAT! Kelly, you are FAST! I just got a news alert, but it had no real info, just said a boat tipped over with Indians on a tour in Vietnam, but no numbers of dead or wounded, and then I come on here, and you have ALL THE INFO, and the VIDEOS, TOO! You didn't arrange a "train trip" for the Indians on this "boat ride", did you!?!?!?  |
