Re: ~Young Woman Breathing Her Last Breaths~
She apparently survived (well when that report was made on the 6th).

Re: ~Young Woman Breathing Her Last Breaths~
Yeah, you're in trouble. It's a signal the brain is still working but desperately needs oxygen to keep your neurons alive. You've got billions of them working together to keep you alive and functioning, but once they die, its permanant and will eventually lead to irreversible brain death. The likelihood of death or permanent injury depends on a few factors, like what caused it, and how quickly they recieve medical aid. If the abnormal breathing is due to cardiac arrest or stroke (the most common causes), you need to start chest compressions and if an AED is available a dispatcher may suggest using that until medics arrive. If it's caused by choking, it's time to break out the heimlich maneuver. In this specific case, I don't know what the correct response would be to help her out if you were a bystander. But apparently she survived. |

Re: ~Young Woman Breathing Her Last Breaths~
I imagine that despite people allegedly not giving a shot about someone clearly dying, they could stop holding their breath and breathe a sigh of relief once she finally stopped breathing. That was sad, painful to watch, but notice it's all men over there. Obviously you aren't going to hear screaming and crying, and the men have no one to impress, showboat their compassion.
