Re: Thumb Tip Amputation Due to IPad...
No it never smelled. I kind of thought it would too. Lol I will say, I have a really high pain tolerance and have had several major traumas from dog (not a pit bull but breed does not matter...as it was the humans fault) mauling my leg to the point of 200 plus stitches and two surgeries... To having a mirror shattered on my forearms resulting in 100 plus stitches... And breaking my hip... I fall down a lot. Yes, I’ve thought seriously about a helmet or bubble wrap. But this fucking hurt like hell. Mostly because the bone was turning to mush inside unchecked for a month before the dr would listen to me that I was in actual pain. He couldn’t believe not everyone responds to pain the same. As for how it looks it depends on the day...my skin and nerves are shot from the injury and antibiotics. My skin is rapidly cycling through its normal cycles WAY faster than my skin even just down further on the same thumb. Some days it’s almost normal, just a scar. Other days it splits wide open and bleeds like a bitch. The very tip and nail are basically dead, there is very little blood flow. It’s cold and white all the time. It’s kind of cool... I have named it Tyrion. The pics...the “healed” one is a good day...the open nasty one...is a bad day. And that’s just how it is now. Thankfully I have more good days with it than bad. |

Re: Thumb Tip Amputation Due to IPad...
Holy crap this sucks. Props to you for being a champ and laugh it off. This reminds me about my mother who got similar situation back then, on which a tiny grain of glass got into her feet. She didn't feel anything at first, but it develop into pus. Then it got worst and the doctors said some chunk of meats need to be removed from her feet. After that she goes into months and months of treatment to keep the wounds clean from gangrene and pus. How's this happen? Well she was on a retreat in a bus with her church group. The bus went into an accident and got flip over on the roadside, the window scattered everywhere. Everyone in the bus are okay, even my mom laugh it off but my dad wasn't so pleased about it. She died years later of heart attack due to diabetes complications. Thanks for the pics BTW |
