Re: Spinal Fusion

I have Ankylosing Spondylitis, my spine fuses itself naturally. The pain i experience is insane, not just my back, but all joints. I have told i can claim disability, but choose to continue to work as an electrician. Pays better.

I feel for you babe. I had many patients with that and I would not wish it on my worst enemy.

Re: Spinal Fusion

Wow that's a really serious surgery and I hope he's doing well. Rest up and get used to pain meds - physical therapy is next!

Re: Spinal Fusion

Don't they do spinal fusions if the material between the verterbrae is worn away for any number of reasons also?

I used to work for personal injury attornies and a lot of our clients got spinal fusions. Some did well and some did not.

I have various spine issues from my C4/C5 to my L5/S1, but, surgery was never suggested. Herniated discs, bulging discs and degenerative discs.

Christy is right! Don't get old

Everything we do to our bodies, be it intentional or accidental, does come back with a vengeance!
