Re: Sometimes..dogs Just Suck
Ahh fuck my reply didn't get posted, but anyhoo, I disagree, and agree, you do have to teach your kids how to act around dogs, but most of these death cases were "accidents" the dogs got out or the kids were too close. I think your "white trash lottery " statement is BS, since people sue from white collar to white trash. and who are you calling (I'm not sure who you are referring to) white trash? Just wondering? BTW, calling people's kid's that you don't even know as something as stupid as "inbreds" |

Re: Sometimes..dogs Just Suck
I agree and disagree. A pit when trained to fight can be deadly. A pit that has been raised as a family dog is another story. Our pit was a rescue and she was already 5 years old when we got her. She's has been the best dog we have EVER owned. I think it just depends on how they were raised. |

Re: Sometimes..dogs Just Suck
No, your answer is "RETARDED" and uneducated. You obviously know nothing about the breed to be spouting such an obtuse view. The number one dog breed that bites are mutts and right under them is German Shepherd Dog. That statistic doesn't mean all mutts and GSD are bad. It just means those particular dogs, in a situation where we don't know the circumstances, bit a human. Nowhere in the statistics does it list if the dog was chained(which makes them crazy), beaten, provoked or unprovoked. It just lists a number and breed, if known. Pit bulls were bred to NEVER bite humans or show any aggression to them whatsoever. If they did they were culled, because during a fight they needed to break the dogs without risk of them biting them. It is unquestionable that pit bulls have bitten humans and caused fatalities, but so have other dog breeds. For instance a pomeranian killed a 6 week old baby. http://www.igorilla.com/gorilla/anim...omeranian.html To ban and deem all pit bulls dangerous is about as ignorant as banning all people named George from entering Canada because a few people named George were dangerous. The lucky 1 in 600 pit bulls who aren't waiting to die in a shelter or in an abusive situation, are an absolute joy to have around. Lastly they're not "just animals," dogs have intelligence of a human toddler. According to several behavioral measures, dogs' mental abilities are close to human child aged between 2-2.5 years, can count up to five and spot errors in computations. The intelligence of canines is dependent on various factors including their breed, environment around them and training imparted by their handlers. What a sad view you have for the world around you. Your perspective reminds me of the saying, "The blind leading the blind." |

Re: Sometimes..dogs Just Suck
Please do blame the owners...they sound like typical white trash living in a shanty trailer with five pit bulls chained up outside and never socialized with humans. I'll bet a lot of money that attack was provoked somehow, but what humans consider "unprovoked" is very different from what dogs consider "unprovoked". Dogs aren't human, therefore they don't reason like humans.

Re: Sometimes..dogs Just Suck
Its great to see someone else who loves pits and know that if they are treated/trained well they can be great, loving and loyal pets, they also are awesome at protecting your family (I know, I am lucky enough to have one). But in the hands of some inept dumbass, then yes, you are going to have problems. If they are bred to fight and caged 24/7, then they are dangerous. What about the suffering these poor animals go through, having heavy locks hanging from their necks, being put on a treadmill non-stop, and if they aren't deemed tough enough, then put in the ring with a stronger dog for "practice". No, the dogs are good dogs, they are victims too, do something about the peckerheads who give them a bad name.
