i agree 100%, I've seem stray pits who are more well behaved than some with owners. I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of pits, but their not bad dogs, sure they can be vicious....MANY breeds can,its all in the owners.

There's been a heap of shit about rotties being killers too. A friend of mine used to own one when we were kids, he was a total sweetheart however had to be put down after unintentionally clipping a girl in the face with his teeth. He'd just had surgery oh his back and was still in the early stages of recovery so was still considerably sensitive. She was told not to touch him, because it would hurt him. Needless to say, she went up and was roughly handling him, he began whining and howling, turned around midway through and accidentally caught the side of her face mid yelp. He was put down. |

i agree with you a 100%. any dog that is treated like shit, beaten, starved, "rough housed" will be violoent,scared and unfriendly. i love pits, i think they are one of the cutest breeds out there, my sister has one as well as 2 kittens and a 4year old. she also has a baby on the way. her dog has never attacked anyone. look at most serial killers, they were provoked by a shitty childhood, beaten, emotional abused...too many people think just because a dogs not human that it doesnt have feelings, i call bull shit.

You guys, I agree with everything you are saying,on both sides. I have had friends with pitts and rotts, and they were sweet as pie. I definitely think though, if any dog shows violent tendencies, you have to keep it on a shorter leash. Just because there are some nice pitts out there, doesn't mean we shouldn't worry about those few that are dangerous to people (they are STRONG, and that is where the danger lies ,if there is a bad dog (whether you believe it is the dog or the owner), they can attack and kill people.) It's true, it's happened, and I don't want to hear from any Pit Bull lovers that I am crazy. They have a reputation for a reason.

That is the most retarded thing I've heard all day. Its not always the owners fault. They are animals. You take chances when you get a pet. Some animals just have it in them to be mean and attack regardless if they are provoked. End of story. |

again...RETARDED. Do you seriously believe that it is just the person that has total control on how an ANIMAL acts? Sure if you beat a dog it will probably be aggressive but you could treat a dog like gold and it still turn on you and bite your face off. GET REAL. They are animals. They are all different.

I put the blame on the people who dont teach their stupid , little inbred kids how to act around a dog. I think most are willing to take a chance on their kid being bit so they can win the white trash lottery I.E a lawsuit. Like the above poster saidyou tell these people not to let their little inbreds to do certain things to your dog and then the parents just smile when the little sheet scrapings goes right ahead and does it. I think we need more pitbulls and not less. Definitly cuts done on the future crime rate before they get started.!! lol  |
