The people who say she must have wanted attention, clearly don't know a thing about cutters or why they do this. Every day...it's like if a woman goes to the doctor and they can't figure out what's wrong, "she must want attention", if one tries to get help for a mental illness and suspects herself of being bi-polar, "she must want attention". It's so easy to classify someone as an attention whore and be done with them, I guess. It's too bad this woman never got help before it was too late....

Whats the difference between SI and smoking, drinking or doing drugs? I have been cutting since I was about 12. I've never done it to that extent though. I think that this is real. She may not want to ask for direct help because she is ashamed or scared of what people will say. All of you who are saying that people cut themselves for attention, you need to walk a mile in a cutters shoes. You have no clue what this person could have gone through to make them do that to themselves. And its like I said, whats the difference between that and smoking, drinking and drugs? They're all a way of punishing your body. Everyone has their vice. We're all going to die one day. This girl may live to be 100. and as shown on this site, we never know when we'll die in a freak accident.  |
