her friend has been in here, she is alive and in therapy.

SI, self injury, usually begins young; but it may continue for years. i know of cutters in their 60s. i'm 49 and i'm still trying to quit. i Have had cut free periods of six, eight, and ten years, but i relapse.

as to what is wrong with this particular girl, i do not know. many cutters have a history of child abuse or neglect, incest or molestation or rape. most of them experience low self esteem and depression.
