Dirty rotten fucking ugly stupid mutt!! I hope Grandpa followed through on his threat to have that beast euthanized!!! They are killing machines plain and simple and if you don't agree with my opinion that's cool.......you'll NEVER convince me that owning one is a good idea!!

Re: Pitbull Attack on Grandmother After an Ice Bucket Challenge

I was brought up with an Amaerican Standard Pit and he was the best friend I ever had. He pulled me all over Mission Bay on my skateboard, this was back when the old wood roller coaster was still there and running. I am now 46 but he was still the graetest ever. Good old Gus. He got old and my dad had to put him out with a shotgun but the first shell didn't do it and he had to use another. I don't want to know the details but they seem plain enough. Phuck. He was a brendal color with a white diamond on his chest. My old pal I do hope we hang out again ad maybe you can pull me aroud when I'm stuffed in the bottom of the sleeping bag

Re: Pitbull Attack on Grandmother After an Ice Bucket Challenge

Though the dog was obviously in the wrong, it was protecting the children. Not saying it's a gentle breed or that they're sweet dogs. I think that owning a pit takes a lot of responsibility and caution.

The ignorance of some people never ceases to amaze me

Re: Pitbull Attack on Grandmother After an Ice Bucket Challenge

I love animals and I love dogs. Several friends own or have owned pitbulls and they're great dogs - friendly, playful and intelligent. These traits were bred into the dog, given they are so formidable physically.

The physical aspect was bred into them too. Aggression against other animals is a given. One friend's pitty we called 'Dalek' - anything entering the backyard that was not master or his friends was destroyed immediately. We found a cat's tail once. All pitbulls must be carefully trained to not attack other animals on sight.

They must be similarly trained with humans. I would *never* leave a pitbull unattended with strange people either adult or child. I would *never* unleash a pitbull in a park, even one which specified this was okay. They are fighting dogs, plain and simple.

Put it this way - how many vids pop up here and elsewhere featuring golden labradors munching someone's face off? Nope, they are bred to be gentle, so guess what.

Being a responsible dog owner is more than sticking up for your breed, training your own dog and expecting that's enough. The realities must be faced and spoken about rationally, to ensure irresponsible dog owners look elsewhere. They are not 'just another dog'.

I found the perfect dog for you! All the hyperactivity and ankle-biting tendencies of a Dachshund combined with the tenacity and crushing power of a Pitbull!
