What NaTaS should have said is that PURE water does not conduct electricity. However, water is generally not pure. It contains minerals and other dissolved solids. Distilled water, I believe, is pure and would not conduct electricity.

Thanks Xardueth and vulturedoors. thing is, i actually emailed snopes about that.. their info on electrical distribution is 10000% WRONG and in my opinion, VERY dangerous. i'm an electrical engineer.. if theres one thing i know, it's distribution and damage control, both on the human level and the device level. we're trained in arc blast calculation and as well, your'e subjected to see what a person looks liek after experiencing such a blast or shock. vulturedorrs, you're10000% correct.. pure (deionized) water is an insulator.. not the greatest insulator, but an insulator nontheless. ya.. fuggin snopes just sent me an automates respose with some general bullshit in it.. they don't care about that shit evidently. |
