I agree with this. Classic Nec Fasc, especially when you take into consideration the possible diabetes history.

Guys, this stuff kills you quick. It starts out as something that looks relatively benign and spreads like crazy. It is mainly seen in diabetics, alcoholics, and others that are immune-suppressed.

This (though often mislabeled) is not a "flesh eating virus." It is a poly-microbial infection that requires surgical debridement and broad spectrum IV antibiotics. Even when caught early, most die or have significant morbidity.

Smells terrible and leaves those few that survive horribly mangled.

I think that's the guy whose doctor left a metal instrument of some kind inside of him during surgery. He had severe internal pain. He got the flesh eating bacteria after it was removed.
