Re: My Son Has Geographic Tongue
My goodness, for your son's sake, I hope it clears up. Looks painful D: And I must also thank you, darkest angel, because now I have an explanation for my tongue problems. It's never been diagnosed for me (for whatever reason), but it appears to be the exact same thing...except I have those cracks in the middle and all over my tongue plus bumps right now... Explains why I hate spicy food though |

Re: My Son Has Geographic Tongue
I have that too... It's gotten a lot better as I got older though. I don't remember it ever hurting because of food, but you know...

Re: My Son Has Geographic Tongue
Make sure he stays away from highly acidic foods and drinks. I noticed those tend to agitate the tongue easily. I guess drinking from a straw also helps if he does want to drink a soda or something. Hopefully it clears up when he get older. |

Re: My Son Has Geographic Tongue
I have the exact same thing and have had it all my life. I have times when my tongue just feels sore for no reason. There is no cure for this. I have asked so many different doctors and gotten the same response.

Re: My Son Has Geographic Tongue
How about a tongue transplant? On a serious note, that looks painful and I hope he gets better. Edit - poor guy must have a really hard time eating anything salty or acidic (which amounts to a lot of good food). |
