Re: My Personal Itchyness
1) Contact dermatitis. 2) R/O (rule out) Urticaria Need more exam with labs to confirm. Dont put a corticosteroid such as hydrocortizone cream till you have been seen by a physician. Putting a steriod on fungus (till you R/O fungus), will increase the amount of inflammation and exacerbate your problem. Just sayin' :) |

Re: My Personal Itchyness
I have the same thing! It will get so bad i would my scratch my skin off. You need to go to a dermatolighist and he will give you some antihist.. My was brought on by stress and has gotten better. I still flare up once in a while. Sweating at night makes it sooo much worse. Good luck as there were no easy answers for me with this.

Re: My Personal Itchyness
Agreed. Don't use an antihistamine cream like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) either as this can exacerbate skin conditions. Funny how an anti-itching/antihistamine can cause skin irritation...hate that product. Cool compresses can work in the meantime. |

Re: My Personal Itchyness
That's odd, but like someone above said, a person can suddenly and randomly get an allergy to something they've used or been around for years. I break out with something similar. I have ezcema though--as does my son. His isn't near as bad as mine though. And he has some sort of an allergy that seems to only affect his eyes. Every now and then his eyes will swell. It starts out looking like a tony bug bite, like maybe a mosquito, then it swells. He says it's hard for him to open it. Weirdness.

Re: My Personal Itchyness
You don't describe the problem that made you nervous and it might be important. Do you have animals in the house? If so, then what kind and how many? Cats? Dogs? Do they go outside? Fleas? Do you eat chocolate, Coffee? Tea? Have you eaten shell fish lately? Shrimp or crabs? Look up all these things since they can cause allergies that once started are persistent and easily aggravated. My grandmother became allergic to bee stings and was forced to take treatments to desensitize her as the family business was bees. She became so sensitive that even smelling bees would cause her to itch. Also she even got stung from a dead dried up bee stinger that was on some clothes. The treatment did somewhat cure her but it was painful and costly. I had a brother and sister who became allergic to pollen but all my life I have had almost no allergies. |
