Re: Kid with a Horrible Jaw Condition
It's always a shame to see something like this befall an innocent. At some point though, it will probably be seen that an unrestricted morphine drip will be the appropriate and most merciful course of treatment. |

Re: Kid with a Horrible Jaw Condition
I say, if the child is old enough and can communicate, and can understand what is going on with him and what his chances are for a meaningful life, you leave the decision to HIM, not just automatically throw around "Oh just put the 'THING' out of its misery". |

Re: Kid with a Horrible Jaw Condition
Jowils and LadyCPlum, it's obvious you have never had relatives with intractable cancer pain and starvation. I watched someone I loved to bits get eaten alive by the damn disease slowly every day for half a year. The pain and suffering are constant. His condition is terminal anyway. Do you honestly think they could do anything for him at that point? Surgery and chemo/radiation treatments are obviously out of reach for him. He would be better off with a massive dose of sedatives and pain meds to ease his way into the afterlife. If he were my baby I would give him freedom. |
