Re: Kid Having a Seizure

Seeing as the mum's obviously the one who is used to dealing with the fits then I think the guy should have gone to see if the baby is ok at the very least.

Re: Kid Having a Seizure

What a worthless dad. Screams for mom, whines and keeps video-taping.
I was thinking the same exact thing.

Poor baby! That would freak me out. One moment, he's fine and the next, he's seizing!

Agreed. Put the camera down & take care of the babies.

The doctors may have told him to tape it so they could study it to help determine treatment.

That's understandable but after the initial seizure was over & the boy was recovering let mom stay with him & go get the baby.

Re: Kid Having a Seizure

This happened to my 3 year old son once... little guy had a bad fever... i was up all night "just in case"... and he just started shaking and his eyes rolled back... scary when stuff like this happens to your babies

Re: Kid Having a Seizure

While I agree your first priority should be your child, it was obvious that this kid succumbs to seizures regularly, probably an epileptic. The most dad could have done for him is what mom did, but I don't see an issue in keeping the camera rolling. This is how we learn.

So little a person can do in this situation, and you're right, Mom was doing all that could be done and Dad did stay for support. My Dad was never very good with his kids hurting either. Mom would go for the First Aid kit, Dad would go for the camera. It's how he coped and kept from completely freaking out. Everyone does it a little differently, but both of this kids parents were with him and cared for him, and I'm sure if it had gotten any worse, Dad would have put the camera down.

Re: Kid Having a Seizure

Mom handled it wonderfully, understand- yes there is a baby crying in the back but a crying UNHARMED baby is OK TO CRY, tend to the little fella who needs it the most right now!

I had a stroke and a few seizures. My neurologist said to tape it when I have seizures.
