Re: I Had 'Acute Cardiac Episode' Yesterday

Yesterday I - Sharon - had routine pain killing injections into both trochanteric parts of hips and sacrum (bottom of spine, for chronic pain from how I walk after brain haemorrhage). Had ketamine and antibiotics, all was going fine.

I was suddenly overcome by sudden severe crushing chest pain and breathing problems. Had to be bagged as laboured breathing, adrenaline and diazepam plus IV drugs and aspirin. Was tachycardic and got transferred to ER. Bloods and multiple ECG done then kept overnight on monitor.

Doctor said results clear of heart attack but unsure about arrhythmia, etc etc. Want more tests. I insisted on coming home as can't see cardiologist until Monday and the ridiculous ward weren't giving me my essential meds. If I feel unwell I've to just go back but they were certain I'll be fine.

I'm okay just exhausted and still having palpitations from high heart rate. BP 97/58!! I've to have strict rest for a few days. Scared me to death!!

So here's my happy face from this morning after yet another ECG

Any other people here suffered similar symptoms? Please share as I'm interested in your stories
I've got an irregular heart beat that cardiologists can't figure out.
They tell me to hit the ER and get shocked whenever it happens, thats all they have to offer.

Re: I Had 'Acute Cardiac Episode' Yesterday

Hang in there Sharon

I know it isn't the same but I recently had to start seeing a cardiologist at 32 years old for extremely high blood pressure, especially for my age. It was 178/118. Anyway, they did ultrasounds of my heart, arteries of the neck and kidneys. Plus blood work. Turned up more problems. Kidney stones, enlarged muscle around an area of the heart, enlarged prostate, super high liver enzymes.

I know that should concern me more than it does but my back pain is what makes days hardest. I had a slow growing vertebral body tumor treated with radiation at the very end of December. I just had a follow up MRI and the bastard exploded in the last 9 months and is now 15-20 times the size it was at treatment.

Anyway, wish you the best of luck and just sharing some of my issues, though different.
My goodness Blindside that's a lot of horrible problems to cope with, especially the vertebrae tumour.

Makes you want to throw in the towel on bad days doesn't it yet in others you're set up for doing your best to manage.

I wish you the very best with your treatment and never be afraid to talk

Re: I Had 'Acute Cardiac Episode' Yesterday

Thank God you are ok. I had a heart attack November of last year from now having enough blood to sustain life. Had no clue I was so anemic. I was euphoric and laughing at EVERYTHING. Thank God my kids were around when it happened and got me to the hospital in time. After running massive tests, it looks as though my body no longer absorbs iron the traditional way and I now have to have it done IV every few months. It sucks but it could be so much worse.
I love your humour, the euphoria and laughing at everything!

Brilliant they worked out what the problem was and that you're receiving iron top ups.

Don't giggle when they cannulate you, hurts like fuck

Or look on here and get equally shocked!
