To mirror the sentiments of others; get to a doctor asap! You are prone to all kinds of infections with an injury like that.

Re: I Cooked My Hand.

If you elect not to get medical help it's very important to not cover it and keep a very close eye for infection, infection is your worst enemy right now with the open flesh.
Once the blisters start drying out you'll need to remove the dead skin, antibiotic ointment is your best friend right now. Go relax on the couch for the next few days and drink lots of beer !.

Please keep us posted with plenty of pics of the healing process.
Best of luck,
J.
Oh, I'm drinking LOTS of beer. It's 9:30am here in Va. and I'm on my third one already. Here are this mornings picts, looks bad and hurts like hell.

HOLY CRAP HH....you look like one of the bloaters we see on here!
Beer is good, but a doctor & antibiotics would be better.

Re: I Cooked My Hand.

HeadlessHorseman, you really should see a doc. That is a nasty injury. How the hell you aren't climbing the walls in agony I don't know. As others have said, if infection sets in that could kill you! High price to pay for a burnt hand. See a doc! I'll even lend you the money if you need to see one!!!

Re: I Cooked My Hand.

Damn man.. Get to the doctor.. The E.R. cannot turn you away from treatment in America.

I see your thanks and comments on how many things around here?? even quotes etc....
You know better...

I'm no doctor, but I know a bit about anatomy...
WHEN that gets infected, (Not if, but when, because it will if it isn't already) you can end up having to lose your hand or die from Sepsis or any number of infectious diseases.
all that skin peels off, you'll be wishing for the painkillers sooner than later which will be the case.

Here's another thought?.. take a steak and cook it (Or chicken..or any other piece of raw animal flesh cooked for human consumption).. and just let it sit for a few days...now look at your hand...Same thing...dead burnt flesh..it will rot etc.

I want to say good post... but.. no.. get it fixed first!
Pain meds, antibiotics, debridement, more pills, and probably rehab..others were right, that skin will heal and it will heal TIGHT...

But lastly..get medical treatment...
