Re: I Cooked My Hand.

If you elect not to get medical help it's very important to not cover it and keep a very close eye for infection, infection is your worst enemy right now with the open flesh.
Once the blisters start drying out you'll need to remove the dead skin, antibiotic ointment is your best friend right now. Go relax on the couch for the next few days and drink lots of beer !.

Please keep us posted with plenty of pics of the healing process.
Best of luck,
J.

Re: I Cooked My Hand.

God almighty! The best thing I've ever used on a burn is making a paste with water and some Arm & Hammer Baking Soda. Let it sit for a bit and it took away all the pain. It might not hurt to look into some fish biotics while you're at it.

Re: I Cooked My Hand.

Might be good to smear it with neosporin too.

Re: I Cooked My Hand.

Wow, I've seen corpse's hands on this site that look healthier. I would definitely go see a doc, at the very least for peace of mind and maybe some painkillers.

Re: I Cooked My Hand.

You can totally die from that. Infection is real serious consideration with burns. You should really see a doctor for antibiotics.

Re: I Cooked My Hand.

Something to do with the baking soda that might be easier (I take a lukewarm bath with a cup or two of it when I've got a bad sun burn) is to put some in a pot of luke warm water and soak it a little bit. It really does get rid of the pain. The baking soda and water paste is probably best for a severe burn but you can try the soak.

Here's something on the fish biotics:

I've used them for bladder infections and I'm using the fish mox right now for a tooth abscess until I can get it pulled.

Re: I Cooked My Hand.

Not seeing a doctor?! Please tell me you're joking. That's a second-degree burn and infection is a certainty without antibiotics. You mention Budweiser so you're in a first-world country. I feel like 'I hate that place' means 'I can't afford it' and I feel for your position but you absolutely need to get some antibiotics.

the skin will heal tight too so if you see off the ifections without too much additional scarring, you will still need to research carefully to make sure you're completing the correct physical therapy. Or, you know, see a doctor.
