Re: I Cooked My Hand.

Hey HH- thanks for the update info and pics! Do you have to moisturize it or anything? Do they have you in physical therapy? I think strong genes are in your makeup; that and if you never got sick then you weren't ever on long stretches of antibiotics. I know that when I was finally diagnosed w/ mono (years ago) I'd been on and off antibiotics for a whole year, due to various infections. After I got better, I refused them for anything for like five years, just to give my body time to work up its own defenses again. I think overuse of them really weakens people in the long run, while at the same time strengthens the various bugs out there. Anyway, keep up the good work!
No physical therapy, little bit of aloe. I started working again as soon as I got out of the hospital. Upset the docs. They wanted me stay another few days at least but I have NEVER been able to stay dormant for any amount of time and needed to get back home and back to life. Strong genes, yes I have, as does most of my family. A whole year? They will destroy your own body defenses. How have you done after stopping the use or over use?

Re: I Cooked My Hand.

Thanks, guys

As for my finger... It was kind of ironic actually. It was a slanted cut and took 3/4 of the nail bed with it. I sliced it off at work (commercial kitchen), so my boss packed it in ice. But instead of reattaching it (which was the doctors original plan) the ER nurse accidentally rinsed it down the drain when she went to strain the ice out

I got lucky. It healed up really well, and most people can't tell the difference just by looking (but I've never regained full sensation in that finger)
Damn! You should have sued!

I worked for PI attorneys and some idiot was suing a cat food company because she cut her finger on the lid. She sold dolls on tv and I videotaped her. You couldn't see a speck on her!

I would be embarrassed to tell someone I'm suing because I cut my finger on the lid of a can. I cut myself a few days ago right under the nail bed and I thought it wasn't going to stop bleeding. Couldn't get out in the snow at that point anyway, but, it eventually did stop. I would not have called an ambulance for it anyway.

And, nearly every Monster High doll package comes with sharp edges, if you move your finger along the plastic the wrong way.

Well, a lot of things in those plastic packages with cardboard backing do, but, once you get cut, you learn how to open them safely.

Well, if nothing else, you have a hard head

I'm happy you are feeling better, in all seriousness.

Hard head, Yeah, solid rock some days. Thanks. I will be sure to post my next accident, "here, watch this, hold my beer" result.

I hope there won't be another, at least in the near future.

My middle brother and I used to call such incidents as, "I saw this in a cartoon. I think I can do it," moments.

Oh, it WILL happen and pretty sure in the near or very near future, I do a LOT of those "don't try this at home" things at home, in my shop, and elsewhere. So stay tuned.
