Probably one of the top bizarre procedures I've ever had to do was a on 15yo girl who was anorexic. She was pretty, very thin of course, and had this little Buddha belly. She complained of constipation and cramping and hadn't had a bowel movement in 10 days. When we scanned her, her entire bowel was full and compacted (hence the distention). Because of her electrolyte imbalance (r/t being anorexic) and the size of the impaction, we had to administer local anesthetic and muscle relaxants to dilate her anus for mechanical fecal removal. Lay person terms - we made her comfortable enough for me to fist her ass and pull the shit out by hand until she was able to push the rest out herself. We didn't weigh the results but she weighed herself on the way out and was elated to discover she was 4 pounds lighter. A shallow note on myself - yes we were both a little aroused by the whole adventure and she still calls me from time to time.  |
