Just an example of what frostbite can do to your hands and feet. This is pretty gross, as well as being pretty painful I bet.

There's no "let it" about it -- if your feet/hands freeze, this is the result. I would guess this is a homeless man; they are frequently victims of frostbite because they can't get in somewhere warm.

Oh nice. I just cut up a sheepskin for a musical instrument case I am making. First effort I effed it up beyond recall so I am on my second iteration. Pretty sure it will be good this time. I never make the same mistakes twice. I always try for new and more interesting mistakes. Your mittens don't have finger slots then? Here in San Diego it's not even cold today.

It can't be. The nerves are dead. Maybe a bit of pain and itching at the transition area from dead tissue to live tissue.
