Looks worse than it really is. Unless they decide to not numb you up. When they do numb you up they squirt so much anesthetic into your toe until it's squirting out. I've had that done twice, the Q-tip is soaked in a chemical that is supposed to prevent nail regrowth. Had ingrowns all the time growing up and had that procedure done in my teens. Haven't had one since and the side of the nail does grow back to meet the skin, just no root of the nail growing underneath to cause all the pain.
