Liberals ARE doing this to PRE-PUBESCENT children, some against the parents wishes!!!! This is absolutely disgusting, children who don’t even HAVE sexual feelings yet. How the fuck do they know what they would want as an adult? They CAN’T!!! Also, almost half of trans people end up committing suicide after the surgery... They are mentally unhappy before surgery. A physical change will NOT fix the mental situation. Extremely sad and maddening to see our government supporting this shit. |

I completely agree that the decision to transition should be left solely up to the individual in question, either when they are of legal age to consent or if they voluntarily emancipate themselves from their parents in order to undergo the procedure. Yes, mistakes have been made. Yes, some children have unfortunately undergone transition and later changed their minds when it was already too late. Yes there is outrage; yes, there is regret; and yes, the people who contributed to those bad decisions should definitely be held accountable, BUT..you cannot automatically assume that the parents and agencies involved proceeded with malevolent intentions. The movement for trans rights and the discussion over gender identity is pretty brand spanking new, only a few decades old. We are still figuring out how all of this stuff works. Some parents may have thought it was a good idea to give their male child--who expressed a desire to become a female--a head start, so she could jump those hurdles early on and focus on more important things. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting your children to be happy and providing them with everything they need to succeed in life. The issue arises with the fact that children have not lived long enough to really know what they want from life, and transitioning is DEFINITELY a lifechanging event. I could write an entire dissertation on the subject, but you get the point. There are an almost infinite number of variables that you have to consider when citing a statistic. For example, a person could kill themselves because they bet their house on a horse race and lost  , and only incidentally have identified as a transperson. Also, by your own source, more than half of the community surveyed did NOT commit suicide. Some of them might actually be quite satisfied with their choice to transition. Ultimately, we want everyone to feel comfortable being who they are. Like all human endeavors, there are bumps along the ride to perfection. We address those issues, we take responsibility for our mistakes, and then we move on. |

That is a person's biological gender, which is completely separate from that person's gender identity. You can think of biological gender as the hardware of a computer, and gender identity as the software. To take the analogy one step further, cellphones are meant to run either Android or Apple iOS, but there is nothing to prevent you from installing Android on an Iphone or iOS on an Android phone. As a matter of fact, you can install a copy of Windows on your phone, attach an adapter and a bunch of peripherals (keyboard, mouse, etc), and use your phone as a fullblown PC. It would be a very tiny PC, but a PC nonetheless. That, in a nutshell, is what transgender is. |

Since we do all kinds of transplants now (Lungs, heart, liver, uterus, etc) I've wondered why a penis transplant cannot be done. Sure, the nerve endings are an issue but in hand and finger and face transplants I think that eventually the nerve endings fuse together and there is feeling. Would take a bit to do the surgery and connect or try to connect the person's nerves to the new transplant but it could be done. Or could it? Is the idea of having someone else's penis a disturbing thought? Even if it just lay there like this one, it would aesthetically look better (No offense to the owner of the dick in the video!) and cure some body dysmorphia in some trans patients.
