XX or XY...you can't change...the problem is people think it is some kind of kindness to feed the delusion...im sorry but you will always be the sex you were born...every single cell in your body will scream XX or XY...you can change who you are...maybe it is easier and better to learn to live with who you are instead of trying to be who you are not...please rethink this...I wish you the best of luck...

How did you get me telling women not to play sports by saying a medical, biological fact? I'm sorry if the truth is tough for you. I don't care what people do in the privacy of their homes...that is their life...the biggest issue is lying to kids or the mentally ill by telling them that they can "magically" change their sex!!! No one can...it is physiologically impossible...your genetics will always be XX or XY...it is easier to help people learn to live with themselves then to lie, take loads of money from them or taxpayers, and then mutilate their natural bodies without dealing with the issues that will still be evident after the surgeons cash the check...if I thought I was a unicorn eyelash everyone would know I need help as that is impossible...I feel for these people and I'm sad that it has become a political tool to gas light opposition...these people need help not mutilation...im sorry if that is hard to hear but it is true...XX and XY is irrefutable...

A simple analogy to demonstrate how society has traditionally established gender roles for people based on, as you put it, medical biological sex. The point is that society expected men to act ONE way, women were supposed to act ANOTHER way. We now accept that just because you are born a certain biological gender does not dictate how you should live your life. Men CAN cry; they can gush over cute little fuzzy things; they can wear earrings, have their hair done up in a bun and no one bats an eye. Women, of course, have been smashing barriers left and right, but up until 1920 they didn't even have the right to vote in the US. Can you believe THAT? It's just another way society has tried to tell people what they can do with their lives based on gender. The TRUTH is that you have a problem with transpeople, and I say that because your only concern is about how the transcommunity is "lying to kids and the mentally ill". You DO realize that there are lots of people who are neither kids nor mentally-ill; people who HAVE transitioned and feel quite liberated after doing so because they are able to live as they see themselves? This isn't just a fad that popped up within the last few decades, there are records of men living as women and vice versa going all the way back to Ancient Greece and beyond. Going back to what I was saying about men not being supposed to cry and women not being supposed to play sports: transgenderism takes that simple concept a huge leap forward to say that a person born male can adopt many of the physical traits and mannerisms traditionally ascribed to the opposite sex so that in essence they BECOME the opposite sex. No one is talking about changing their biological sex, that is impossible for the time being. It has to do with changing a person's gender role, which is quite different from biological sex. Biological sex is established by genetics, gender roles are established by society. Helping people live with how they perceive themselves is exactly what the transgender movement is all about, and for many people, the money spent on transitioning is money well spent. Yes, of course, there are going to be scams and misinformation about transitioning, just as there have been scams and misinformation throughout history about pills that can make a man's penis bigger, or pills that can make fat melt off of a woman (THAT, of course, is now a reality). Take issue with the scammers and pseudo-scientists, not the people genuinely working to help people be happy. No unicorns have been found to exist, so that is one point against your contention, but the important question is how identifying as a unicorn eyelash would impact your ability to live and interact with others. The difference between that and a man identifying as a woman is that there are MANY women who do not conform to what we normally perceive as "the essence of womanhood". There are women out there with masculine features like flat chests and big shoulders, women who cannot conceive, older women who no longer menstruate...but that doesn't suddenly mean that they are not women and cannot wear dresses and the like. That is why it's more plausible for a man who has transitioned to be accepted as a woman than it is to accept you as a unicorn eyelash. Let's go into this "mutilation" theme that you keep bringing up. I agree that kids at least should not undergo transition until they are of age or emancipate themselves in order to undergo the operation. I've already listed my reasoning for this in an earlier post. Things aren't so cut and dry when you are dealing with the mentally ill. It would depend on the severity of their mental illness, but it would also be unethical to deny them access to transition surgery if they GENUINELY desire it. That would have to be determined on a case by case basis. As far as everyone else goes, they are free to float or sink as they please, just like a person is free to get a tattoo or a piercing they live to regret later. For the people who make a pragmatic decision to transition, it is life-changing for the better. |
