Lymphedema is not cancer, though it can be caused by cancer. It's basically swelling of limbs when the lymph system and/or blood circulation is not working properly and can't get rid of the extra fluid in the extremities. It's very painful, disabling and, as you can see, quite disfiguring. This is one of my biggest fears, getting lymphedema! |
