Re: Disease of the Mind (NO-GORE, NO WORDS) Just a Message
I've been pondering lately as I watch the decline of my elderly father, whether it is better for your mind or your body to go first. I watch him come back from the hospital over and over again, each time with some shitty news that another part of his body is failing. He's fully aware of it. He's fully aware he is nearing the end of life, he's fully aware he'll probably die before his baby granddaughter forms any memories of him; and imo, although alzheimers is painful to watch for us, I'd prefer if my dad didn't know he was slowly ebbing away. |

Re: Disease of the Mind (NO-GORE, NO WORDS) Just a Message
I've seen this video before but it still manages to make me break down and sob each time. My heart goes out to everyone who has to endure this disease. I pray I never have to, but chances are I will. I shouldn't be surprised by the lack of empathy on this site, or the plain attempts to just be an ass for the attention, but it's good to see that most people on here have a heart. Powerful post, thanks for sharing =) |

Re: Disease of the Mind (NO-GORE, NO WORDS) Just a Message
People that have gone through trials generally are kinder, more accepting and thankful for what they have. Alzheimer disease actually destroys the brain and it's only a matter of time before death occurs. Very sad for someone locked up inside and for a young girl who just wants her mom.
