Disease of the Mind (NO-GORE, NO WORDS) Just a Message
**Don't say you were not warned in the title if your here to bitch you can show yourself the door...** I would probably get sympathy for a Suicide bomber before I would get a tear jerker on DR, but I can try! I wanted to post it here in hopes that people will get the message. A lot of sick shit in life isn't seen as blood on the surface. |

Re: Disease of the Mind (NO-GORE, NO WORDS) Just a Message
Well you certainly got a tear jerker from me. This made me cry and I'm sorry for everything you are going through right now with your Mom. Alzheimer's is an awful thing and I would never wish anyone to have to go through it. My grandfather (my mother's father) got Alzheimer's though it was more due to old age, it was still a sad thing for me to see that he was forgetting my mother and it made me so upset and even more so my mom was devastated to see her father in that state. You're doing the right thing, by helping your mother in every way you can and keeping her close no matter what happens. You're very brave especially at your age. Thanks for sharing your message. Spoke to me a lot. I do hope that they will find a cure for this disease so that no one will have to go through it or see anyone else go through it neither. I send my prayers and best wishes to both you and your mother. |

Re: Disease of the Mind (NO-GORE, NO WORDS) Just a Message
Having any family member or close friend with any disease is a real shame, I already told all my family that if I ever end up getting brain cancer or Alzheimer's or any disease that would disrupt the way I live, I would kill myself. I don't want to make people pity me or feel bad for me.

Oh my apologies, I feel stupid now. Sorry if I mistook you, I don't post much on this website so I don't know the users on here as well as I should. Yeah I got the message. It was a very powerful one and my sympathy goes out to that girl.

Re: Disease of the Mind (NO-GORE, NO WORDS) Just a Message
My mom had a stroke in 2004. She has better long term memory loss than short term. She messes up our names. My father died from Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and dementia, along with diabetes. He was pretty good with memory until he stopped eating after my prick brother told him he was eating too much. He died in a horrible place. He wanted to die at home. Unfortunately, he'd get up early in the AM thinking he had to work. They had to put locks on the doors because he wondered outside a couple of times in his underwear and was found by neighbors. Two brothers took care of him, but, drinking and drugging were more important to them. The youngest brother died in a fire 9 months after my father's death. Karma? I wonder. Then, my oldest brother drank himself to death the day after Thanksgiving in 2010. Living is the hard part, but, it is what it is. Life goes on. Things don't get better and I don't care who disagrees with me. I'm not writing this for people to feel sorry, but, sometimes, we have to be stronger than we ever thought we'd be. I'm down to my mother, who is now 77, (I think), and the other alcoholic brother who allowed my youngest to put my father in a horrible place. I yelled at the nurses to put the A/C on and to give him something for his fever. He was burning up, which meant he body was shutting down. He died two days later. He wanted to die at home, but, my brothers were too selfish. I'm taking care of my mother, until she can't take care of herself anymore since I have medical issues and can't lift her. She will never go in hospice! I feel bad for the girl in the video because she is young and very pretty. I'm sure she will be fine. |
